The Office of Water Use Efficiency and Transfers provides support for the stewardship of California's water resources by promoting and facilitating the energy efficient use of water (including water transfers) and facilitates in the CALFED solution area. This office is responsible for water use efficiency planning and coordination. Our services include technical and financial assistance, information collection and dissemination, resources evaluation, and implementation, reviewing, facilitating and implementing water transfers.

The California Urban Water Conservation Council was created to increase efficient water use statewide through partnerships among urban water agencies, public interest organizations, and private entities. The Council's goal is to integrate urban water conservation Best Management Practices into the planning and management of California's water resources.

The CSLB protects consumers by licensing and regulating California's construction industry. There are more than 310,000 licensed contractors in the state, in 43 different licensing classifications.

The CSLB also investigates more than 20,000 complaints filed each year against both licensed and unlicensed contractors. In fiscal year 2006-07, the CSLB obtained more than $44.8 million in ordered restitution for consumers.

The CSLB's Statewide Investigative Fraud Team (SWIFT) works to eliminate unlicensed contractors working in California. Undercover sting and sweep operations are conducted weekly around the state.
